What Past Delegates Say About NIITF
Trusted by government officials, investors and entrepreneurs across Nigeria and Indonesia
Beyond reaffirming Nigeria’s dedication to reform‑driven economic diplomacy, our participation underscored the vital importance of collaboration in creating a predictable, transparent, and investor‑friendly business environment one that is stable and healthy. This commitment is shared at the highest levels by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR and Vice President Kashim Shettima GCON, who are both steadfast in fostering such a climate across Nigeria,
The Forum demonstrated significant potential for bilateral collaboration across high-impact sectors, leveraging the economic, demographic, and structural similarities shared by Nigeria and Indonesia. These synergies provide a strong basis for joint ventures, technology exchange, industrial innovation, and infrastructure partnerships all of which align with PEBEC’s mandate to enhance the ease of doing business and drive investment led growth.
The 4th edition of NIITF provided a strategic platform to strengthen bilateral trade and investment relations between Nigeria and Indonesia. The Forum reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to expanding trade, particularly in non-oil sectors, and enhanced NEXIM Bank’s visibility among Indonesian stakeholders.
The NIITF 2025 in Jakarta was remarkably rich in insights on trade priorities within the bilateral relationship between Nigeria and Indonesia. It provided a fitting platform to advance conversations on trade facilitation and shared market interests. Indonesia’s example in industrial and economic growth offers valuable lessons for Nigeria, particularly within the AfCFTA framework
The Nigerian Indonesian Trade and Investment Forum 2025 was a major eye-opener for me. In terms of organization, leadership, and management, the Chamber under the president’s direction did an exceptional job. The forum was not just about filling a room with attendees, but about bringing together the right people decision-makers and partners with purpose. The engagements were highly productive, and many of the discussions we had have continued beyond the event, holding great prospects for collaboration. The post-forum meetings and follow-up sessions facilitated by the Chamber’s leadership were also very rewarding and instructive. Overall, it was a truly worthwhile experience, rich with opportunities and meaningful connections
Serving as the Jakarta-based representative for NICCI has given me the unique opportunity to connect Indonesian businesses with Nigerian counterparts. This year’s trade forum was especially fruitful the Nigerian delegation presented unique opportunities that were well-received by Indonesian partners. We didn’t just connect trade partners; we built joint ventures and fostered meaningful collaborations that bridge both nations. Personally, I can’t wait for next year’s forum. Thank you for making me a part of NICCI.
It was truly an honor to be part of this initiative and to witness how the relationship between Indonesia and Africa continues to evolve a connection deeply rooted in history, dating back to former President Soekarno’s vision of solidarity and cooperation among developing nations. That legacy remains alive today, as we transform shared values into real economic opportunities. What stood out for me was the readiness of both regions to collaborate beyond dialogue toward building food security systems, industrial capacity, and knowledge transfer that empower our people and industries alike. Moving forward, I believe Indonesia and Africa can co-create a new model of partnership one that bridges resources, expertise, and trust across sectors such as agro-processing, logistics, and vocational development.

Keynote Address From, His Excellency Prof Yemi Osinbanjo, SAN, GCON.
The Nigerian Indonesian Investment and Trade Forum (NIITF) is the brainchild of The Nigerian Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI). The maiden event which took place in Jakarta, Indonesia, is targeted at improving bilateral trade and investment between Nigeria and Indonesia to facilitate economic growth through physical and virtual business engagements between Government and private institutions in both countries that translates into increased trade and investment balances and mutually beneficial engagement for all parties involved.
The mission of NICCI, and by extension its flagship event NIITF, is to showcase the best of Nigeria’s non-oil export sectors of business and to drive foreign direct investments and enhance trade relations between Nigeria and Indonesia. Notably, the bilateral trade volume between the two countries experienced significant growth, rising from $2.6 billion in 2021 to an estimated $4.7 billion in 2023. NIITF is committed to building upon this momentum, aiming to further diversify exports, promote sustainable partnerships, and unlock new investment opportunities that benefit both nations
